What a year it’s been for Blocs and its community! 2021 has, without a doubt been one of our most productive years to date. Our small 3 person team has churned out a huge number of new features, improvements and training materials.
To celebrate such a productive year, we created a 2021 recap promo video that showcases some of the best new features and improvements we released in the last 12 months!
E-commerce 💸
One of the first big improvements we rolled out in 2021 focused around e-commerce and building online stores with Blocs. We delivered a range of new features that enabled Blocs users to easily add buy buttons, checkouts and even create entire store fronts, right inside Blocs, for the likes of Ecwid, Stripe, Snipcart, Paddle and Gumroad.
Bootstrap V5 🚀
Blocs has always used the Bootstrap framework as the foundation for creating stunning responsive websites, it is without a doubt one of the most reliable CSS frameworks in existence.
On the 5th of May 2021, Bootstrap V5 was officially released, this marked a huge shift in how websites would be created going forward, as the framework no longer required jQuery. Here at Blocs HQ, we were very well prepared for this change and actually added support for the new framework on the 4th of May, the day before Bootstrap V5 was released.
This meant Blocs users could take full advantage of the improvements offered by the new Bootstrap V5 framework, on the day it was released! 😎
Blocs Store Integration 🛒
From the moment we introduced the Blocs Store back in May 2019, it’s been an instant hit with the Blocs community!
This year we took the Blocs Store to a whole new level and made it possible to discover and install all of the 3rd party products found on the Blocs Store, right inside of Blocs.
Expanding Blocs and the websites you create with it has never been so simple!
The Blocs Academy 🎓
This year we published a total of 41 free training videos for Blocs, helping to teach our users to learn everything from “How to add a text gradient” to “How to make a navigation sticky”. But we didn’t stop there, we also introduced the Blocs Academy, a dedicated hub to access all of our training videos (ad-free) online or directly within of Blocs.
Localisation 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇪🇸🇳🇱🇮🇹🇵🇹🇯🇵🇬🇧
At the beginning of 2021 Blocs was only available in English, jump forward 12 months and Blocs has been transformed into a multi-language #NoCode web design application, supporting no less than 8 different languages! 🙀
But that’s not all, we also added multi language subtitles to all of our free training videos on the Blocs Academy and our YouTube Channel as well as adding full translation support to the huge Blocs knowledge base. This means all Blocs users can now take full advantage of our free learning resources to help them build better websites, even faster with Blocs!
We are exceptionally proud of this huge leap forward for Blocs, but even prouder of the incredibly generous members of the Blocs community who made this a reality.

Visual Impairment Filters 👁
It’s easy to forget, many of the visitors to the websites we create with Blocs may have visual impairments. Thanks to the WCAG, awareness for the importance of accessibility on the web is growing from strength to strength.
This year we added visual impairment filters to our canvas settings. These new controls enable Blocs users to see how their site would appear to a person with red-green, blue-yellow and full spectrum colour blindness.
Bugs Fixes🪳
The web is constantly evolving, any app in this space that is not issuing improvements, optimisations and fixing bugs regularly, is simply not moving forward!
As well as all of the fabulous new features we released, it’s also worth mentioning that, in 2021 our small team issued over 200 bug fixes and improvements to Blocs V4.
